Finally I jumped onto the cushion foundation bandwagon! Yayyy ! I know, I know, its nothing new, especially in this part of the world (Asia) but it was new to me, since I had never used one till date.
Torn between the various options available in the stores, I thought of giving Lancôme a try, being one of my favourite brands for skin care and mascaras. Lancôme came out with their cushion foundations earlier last year and after reading few reviews online I was very excited to see what the big hoopla was all about.
So the Lancôme Miracle Cushion is a lightweight foundation with sheer to medium coverage, which is perfect for everyday wear. The uniqueness lies in its design and the formula. The liquid foundation is inside a spongy cushion which comes in a round mirrored case. Although I am not a big fan of the dab on sponge applicator, I find that it’s perfect for the on-the-go touch ups.
The formula is more watery than other normal foundations but still has enough coverage to even out the skin tone in one application. I am more of a BB cream/tinted moisturiser kinda person, so for me it just gives the perfect amount of light to medium coverage making me look put-together for everyday. The more you press on the disc like cushion pad, the more foundation comes out. It is definitely build-able giving the ‘your skin but better’ look. It claims to give you a dewy, healthy and radiant finish and surprisingly it lives up to the claim. The SPF 23 is a bonus too!
The 14g refill (cushion) comes for S$55 and the first time buyers need to buy the case separately which is S$20. No doubt it is a pricey foundation with a whopping price tag of S$75! And especially for the amount of actual product that you get and also when compared with the other foundations available in the market. But then again I feel I use less of the product than usual and the resulting finish that I get is amazing ! Ohhh the justifications !!
It comes in a good range of colours suitable for most skin tones. That is always my concern – the colour has to be natural, very close to my complexion. I got myself no. 03 Beige Pêche, which is a perfect match!
I keep feeling that this product gives me the ‘eight glasses of water a day’ glow!
Have you tried it? Let me know how you feel about it or if you have other suggestions.
Have a great day.
XO
A very good write up on an expensive product.Lancome is an awesome product, but some of us would be beneficial if you can suggest a reasonably priced good product sometime.
Thank you for liking the post. Surely will review a drugstore foundation soon.
Will give it a try.
